The location of the plot in-between two opposing contexts – a dense urban development and a quiet suburban landscape of the Moscow suburbs, on the banks of a lake – predetermines the character of the place. Directly adjacent to the waterfront, as a kind of watershed, a resultant element, the site paradoxically takes on the properties of both elements – simultaneously belonging to the city and the suburbs.

The approach defines the character of the place and, consequently, the character of the space, as a point of diffusion. Manifesting as a full-fledged urban public space, combining a wide palette of functions of a public center, the project, at the same time, becomes part of the natural, organic landscape – biosphere, visual interconnections.

Consequently, the role and the features of the existing landscape are emphasized, while aiming to integrate a public and social function, to add a playful element. Connections, paths and public spaces “cut through” the landscape.
