The new “Piazza Colonna” in Rome will be a symbolic place for a city that wants to renew itself and look to the future. Our vision is to transform a cold and inorganic place into an organism, composed of abiotic and biotic parts and animated by the people who will live and visit it. A living place, where vegetation and architecture find a new form of synthesis able to give back to the environment clean air and energy.

A suspended element unfolds around the column of Marco Aurelio, creating an external circular path (in addition to the already existing internal one) that follows the spiral friezes on the column. The element establishes a strong dialogue among the public and the column, as it allows to have a complete vision of the latter. Moreover, visitors will be able to interact with the organism through the senses, experiencing sounds, lights, colours, scents, tastes and tactile sensations.

The vegetation of the path, together with the vegetation of the whole square, contributes to the definition of a vertical landscape in continuous communication with the context and in continuous exchange.
